requisiti per domanda per borsa di studio a Oslo - summerschool 2009

The Norwegian Research Council has announced that Norway discontinues
the Norwegian Government Scholarship pool under the Cultural Agreement
framework. However, the Summer School scholarships under the Cultural
Agreement will continue but with new procedures for nomination.

The International Summer School at the University of Oslo is one of two
summer schools who in the past have awarded Cultural Agreement
scholarship for the summer term. The International Summer School (ISS)
will from now on administer the Summer Scholarships under the Cultural
Agreement with the following procedures for applicants:

A) Applicants for Cultural Agreement Summer Scholarships apply directly
and personally to the International Summer School, University of Oslo.
The application deadline is February 1, 2009 for the 2009 summer term.

B) The previous nominating institution (Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
Ministry of Education, etc.) should now advice scholarship applicants to
apply directly to the International Summer School and not through their
admission services. The previous nominating institutions will no longer
have to nominate students and will not receive a report or confirmation
from the International Summer School.

In the event that the nomination for summer scholarships 2009 has
already been processed by the previous nominating institution (e.g. the
Ministry of Education), the International Summer School will accept the
nomination list and follow the old procedures for this year as well.

C) The previous nominating institution must inform all relevant agents
and institutions about the changes listed in this e-mail.

D) The Cultural Agreement Summer Scholarships are primarily intended for
foreign students specializing in Scandinavian Studies and/or
Scandinavian Language. As a result, the International Summer School
welcomes each European university with a Study Program in Scandinavian
Studies and/or Scandinavian Language to send a prioritized list of their
students to the International Summer School. In a sense, each
Scandinavian institute can nominate/prioritate it's own students. The
deadline for sending in priority lists will be February 1, 2009 for the
2009 summer term. If desired, the Scandinavian Studies department can
collect applications from its students and send the applications and the
priority list to the ISS before February 1.

E) The Cultural Agreement Summer Scholarships are also open to any other
qualified applicant interested in any of the other courses offered at
the International Summer School. We encourage you to inform interested
students about our website (www.uio.no/iss) and direct the applicants to
us so that we can guide the applicant in the admission process.

E) The International Summer School is free to distribute the app. 49
Cultural Agreement Summer Scholarships according to the qualifications
of the scholarship applicants and is not tied to a particular number of
scholarships to any given country/region. However, as a rule, the ISS
will try to follow the distribution of scholarships per country/region
as it has been over the last years.

The International Summer School at the University of Oslo thank you for
your cooperation in this matter and hope that you contact us if you have
further questions about the Cultural Agreement Summer Scholarships.
